Chile is open to foreign travelers!

COVID-19 Situation in Chile

On September 1st, 2022, Chile’s travel requirements were updated, making it easier for foreign travelers to enter the country. You must present either proof of vaccination from the country in which you were vaccinated (equivalent to the Mobility Pass) OR a negative PCR test result within a maximum of 48 hours from departure. Know that if you don't have proof of vaccination you can still travel but will not be granted a Mobility Pass (which is required to enter certain hotels, restaurants, theaters, and transportation such as buses). Travelers under 18 years old do not have any requirements. Covid tests will be randomly carried out at the airport and other entry points.

Unique Advantages to Patagonia Frontiers

Alongside our COVID-19 protocols, the isolated nature of Patagonia Frontiers’ private ranches creates the ideal conditions for a safe and immersive wilderness adventure. It also makes some of Chile’s travel requirements less relevant. Beyond our remote wilderness location and its unique access to surrounding national parks, our custom and small group sizes favor the necessary logistics to safely serve our students, guests, staff, and small community.

Since its inception in 1999, a fundamental priority of Patagonia Frontiers has been the safety and welfare of living beings. We live in, work in, and share with others the secluded wilderness locations we call home, and we’ve found it judicious to continually emphasize a personal, as well as institutional culture of safety, risk management, and mitigation.

Patagonia Frontiers Covid-19 Protocols

We follow COVID-19 Health and Safety guidelines which were developed by the National Tourism Service in association with the Adventure Travel Trade Association and the Cleveland Clinic in the United States.

Our implementation of specific COVID-19 health and safety guidelines complements what has always been vital to Patagonia Frontiers’ ethos: devoted protection and care for the natural world, a commitment to environmental education, to honoring regional culture, and being an ally for surrounding national parks and communities.
